“The world is evolving fast and so are we.” There couldn’t be a more appropriate sentence on the St. Modwen Homes’ website. We are living in a rapidly evolving world and change is a constant. With this mind and a priority to consistently deliver a professional service to its customer base, St. Modwen Homes has committed to further enhance the skills of their Sales Consultants with the launch of the Sales Executive level 4 programme. The cohort enthusiastically joined their first Virtual Session with Mercuri MD Barry Hilton and their new Learning & Development Coach Nigel Baldwin.
With an inspiring introduction from Martin Install, St. Modwen’s Regional Managing Director North, the virtual onboarding session combined a mixture of presentation, interactive discussions and a quiz to introduce the trailblazing Sales Consultants to the Level 4 Sales programme. Martin presented the apprenticeship as a fantastic opportunity to both nurture and elevate the team.
Comfort, stretch and panic
Barry explained how sales, whilst being a process, is also underpinned by psychology and the facing and meeting of challenges. The practical programme is designed to stretch the learners and take them out of their comfort zone and into the stretch zone, the place where achievement and success can be seen.
Immediate Impact
The Kahoot quiz enabled Barry to give the team an understanding of some of the themes that they will cover during the upcoming weeks to help achieve some quick wins, improve confidence and see immediate impact:
- Questioning & listening techniques
- Consultative selling
- Sales planning
- Client relationships
- Social selling
“It has been fantastic over the last few months to build the partnership between Mercuri and St. Modwen. The team at St. Modwen have shown their dedication, not only to the business but also to the individual learners on the programme. Thank you Angela Van Driel Assoc CIPD TAP.cert and Alison Tucker. It is great to work with a company who are so focused on developing their employees. Really excited for the future!”
